Our Story: Since 2016

Less than a decade ago, the Association came into existence through our first elections, forming an Executive Committee consisting of 11 dedicated members. As an organization, we were just starting out, representing the alumni of a relatively young School. Our oldest batch hadn’t even reached the age of forty. They were balancing the responsibilities of being mothers and professionals, making it challenging to find time for volunteering.

Despite these initial hurdles, we have persevered and now find ourselves on our third Committee, with a list of noteworthy accomplishments to our credit. We take immense pride in creating valuable initiatives such as Igniting Minds, The Mayo Jam podcast, The Mayo Marketplace, and the Fireside Series. These platforms were established with the intention of fulfilling the objectives set forth by our Association.

Through these endeavours, we strive to foster a sense of connection, provide valuable resources, and make meaningful contributions to the Mayo community. It is the dedication and passion of our members that have brought us this far.

Our Mission & Vision

The students of MCGS grow up embracing the inspiring motto: “Let There Be Light.” The Association has adopted this treasured ideal as our guiding principle. We are wholeheartedly dedicated to nurturing a culture of shared learning within our extensive community of over 2,000 members.

Our primary objective is to establish a vibrant network that fosters social, cultural, and professional interactions among all members. We are committed to creating secure and supportive platforms where individuals can openly exchange their experiences, drawing insights from both triumphs and setbacks.

We organise a range of events and gatherings that facilitate regular alumni reunions, enabling us to nourish the enduring spirit of Mayo. By coming together, we can inspire and empower one another to unlock our fullest potential. Additionally, we maintain a profound investment in the progress of our cherished alma mater, actively supporting its journey toward even greater achievements. Together, we continue to illuminate the path, making a positive impact on the lives of others.
