profile-image Dear Alumni,

I am so excited to be writing to you.

In November of 2015, a set of our peers, elected me as the first President of the Mayo College Girls School Alumni. I am honored to have this opportunity and committed to serve my term with the support of my team

We have a simple goal. We want to build an enduring relationship with the alumni and the school. We believe that when we connect, we are creating the magic we had in school. We do this by extending ourselves to serve the school and each other. We have hit the ground running. As a first step, we had to define our vision and focus on creating the backbone for the organization. This is important given it will define our goals and then put in place the infrastructure we need to execute it. We also must build a credible voice within the school. Two Mayo Girls Alumni are now on Mayo College Board and General Council. This was never the case before. We are particularly proud of this.

But we need to do more. We must keep the momentum going. I cannot emphasize one thing. And it is this. While we have committed to lead and steer, we cannot do it alone. We need your support, your ideas, your time and your participation. We have set up chapters across India, and they need you to show up in the activities they are planning. We are not a political organization. We are a not a company. Instead, we see ourselves as a community and a movement. What binds us is our shared history. And this shared history will propel us give of ourselves to create a shared future. When we begin to do that, we will give back to school and support each other in our personal and professional goals.

Our vision for the alumni association is bigger than the sum of all us and we want you on board. No matter what stage of your lives you are in, you can engage. If you are reading this message - it's a start. Whatsapp it to your batch, who has not yet read it. Your second step maybe to call a batch mate you havenot seen in years. Your third step may be to attend an event. Your fourth step is to take small responsibility to organize it. You never know what will happen when you re connect. Just take that first step.

We are going beyond our borders too. So many of our talented alumni live across the globe. But they still carry within them the feeling of being in the dorms with their friends. They want to hear from you when you are traveling to where they are. It doesn't matter if you're from their batch or not. They want tomeet. Trust me.

I also want to add that while we will make mistakes, we will also course correct. We will be open to all you must say. Yet, sometimes, we will have to make time bound decisions and get the job done swiftly. At all times, we will be transparent and accountable to our mission and our peers. I also hope that during my tenure as President of Alumni, I get to meet more of you than I have so far. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Rashmi Singh
